Ride Share Services have recently had issues with sexual assault, harassment and violence. If you use these services, you must protect yourself against drivers who may try to take advantage of you. Make sure you check your state laws before you look at purchasing and carrying any self-defense item, but, make no mistake, you must take responsibility for your own safety. There is no reason that you should be concerned about your safety when using any of these services. Not when there are diverse types of self-defense products on the market available to you. There are things like pepper sprays, stun guns, personal alarms, knives, and steel batons, etc. As you begin to look for the best product for you, ask yourself some important questions, so that you will get the best kind of protection for yourself.
- Am I comfortable using this product? If you are not comfortable with carrying a steel baton or feel uncomfortable using one, then, maybe you would be more comfortable having pepper spray for your self-defense. You don’t want any hesitation when you need to defend yourself.
- How am I going to carry this product? Carrying your self-defense item is important. It needs to be easily accessible. It may be a Personal Alarm you want to carry on your keychain or, a Lipstick Stun Gun your purse. You may like having a MACE PEPPER Gun Pepper Spray. There are diverse types of self-defense products available. You can find many of them at my store at: www.selfdefenseventures.com.
- Think about what you would need to do if you had to defend yourself during a ride. Everyone is different, so, think this situation through. Do it now, before it happens to you! Put yourself in that backseat. What would you do if you felt threatened? How would you protect yourself? You want to be completely comfortable and confident with your personal protection product. As soon as you decide what you need to protect yourself, practice using it. Practice using it in the dark. You don’t want to have to fumble with your Stun Gun, to use it. Most of these incidents take place at night, so, be prepared. Keep your self-defense item in your hand during your ride. Make sure your driver is taking you to your destination by the most identifiable route. Have your cell phone in your hand. Stay aware of your driver’s focus. If at any time you don’t feel comfortable with your driver, tell him to stop. Get out of the car. Call for another car or friend to pick you up. Report the driver to his company and the police. If you must defend yourself against a ride share driver, protect yourself, then, get away from him as quickly as possible and call police as soon as you can safely. Before you choose your self-defense product, think about what you would need to do to protect yourself. And choose the product that gives you the best way to keep yourself safe.
